Climate and environment: COP29 - "I left with hope in my heart”

Last week I represented the Liberal Democrats at COP29 in Azerbaijan, where leaders from countries all over the world came together to collectively try to address the climate crisis - and at the 11th hour reached a final agreement. I spoke about the UK’s Climate and Nature Bill that is going to be introduced in January to parliament. The bill has huge cross-party support from all levels of government and civil society in the UK. It says that we can only really tackle the climate crisis when we look at these twin emergencies of climate and nature together.
