Protect our environment in South Cambs

Pippa Heylings and Ed Davey at the River Mel

One of the things that makes South Cambs such a wonderful place to live is the natural environment. Pippa has championed environmental causes her whole life - whether its working with governments on international environmental agreements or closer to home, helping South Cambs to be one of the most ambitious councils when it comes to climate change.

Pippa is campaigning for real action on our environment - so our waterways are free from sewage and returned to health, water supplies are secured for future generations, and action is taken to tackle the climate crisis and support green industries of the future.

Pippa is calling for:

  • Tougher action on water companies to stop sewage spills into our rivers and protect our chalk streams
  • Doubling nature - doubling the area and richness of land managed for wildlife
  • An end to the Conservative rowing back on key climate policies in recent months, and more support for local climate action, including insulating homes and higher standards for housebuilders
